Prof. Dr. M. Lütfi ÖVEÇOĞLU received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University in 1984 and 1987. He has been affiliated with the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Istanbul Technical University since 1990. He is the founder and technical director of Particulate Materials Laboratories (PML), a cluster of 9 laboratories. His main research activities are mechanical alloying and mechanochemical synthesis of W-based, Al-based and boride-based materials. He is author/co-author of 192 papers and 1 patent cited in Web of Science, 2 book chapters and 3 edited conference proceedings having about 1760 citations.
