Emanuela Calcio Gaudino

Areas of Research/Expertise

Dr. Emanuela Calcio Gaudino (female) is currently a researcher in Organic Chemistry at the Department of Drug Science and Technology, University of Turin (Italy). Her research deals with the synthesis of fine chemicals and bioactive compounds under non-conventional methods and conditions (green solvents and reagents, heterogeneous catalysis, high- energy microenvironments, enabling technologies). Ball milling, high-intensity ultrasound, hydrodynamic cavitation, microwaves, flow reactors and high pressure reactors are among the main techniques applied by Calcio Gaudino in the field of process intensification of organic reactions in the domain of green chemistry. The biomass valorization under non conventional technologies is another topic of her research activity focused on conversion of residual biomass into added value products.
