Areas of Research/Expertise

Medicinal and synthetic organic chemistry in the fields of anticancer and antimicrobial agents, with special attention in targeting resistant cancer cells and bacteria.

The chemical modification of naturally occurring bioactive organic compounds (polyamines, retinoids, psoralens, chloramphenicol, abietane diterpenes etc.) and synthetic drugs aiming to alter their biological profile (enhance or modify their activity and/or improve their selectivity).

We are interested in the implementation of Mecahnochemistry steps in our synthetic procedures and especially for building heterocyclic scaffolds.
