Areas of Research/Expertise (please provide a short write up to 250 words)

I have been interested in the synthesis of metal complexes containing different classes of ligands for applications as luminescent materials and as catalysts for olefin oligo-

/polymerization. These include boron and copper complexes with luminescent properties for applications in OLEDs, Ni(II) based catalytic systems, containing either indenyl or α-diimine (DI) ligands for applications as oligo-/polymerization catalysts.

More recently, I started working in the preparation of Cu(I), Ag(I), Cu(II), Au(III), Zn(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II)/(IV) metal complexes containing carbene-, N,N- or S,O-ligands, using both conventional synthetic methods and mechanochemistry. These complexes find applications as catalysts for: aerobic oxidation of alcohols, cycloaddition reactions, synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides, oxidation of styrene, and also for biological applications.

Expertise in single-crystal X-ray diffraction, multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, inert- atmosphere techniques (Schlenk tube and glovebox), GPC/SEC.
